We currently have a job posting for a "Blankie". Applicants need to be soft, not too big, able to withstand ungodly amounts of saliva, easy to clean, pink(or at least girlie), and taste good. Bunnies, turtle, or frogs a plus. The applicant pictured here is in the running but no final decision has made.

Samantha: We highly recommend the unsewn cloth diapers for your blankie search. No, they are not girlie....plain white (although I'm sure you could dye them pink). And, the beauty is that they are identical and your mom can buy hundreds of them. Thus, avoiding the horrifying "lost blankie" event. We called (STILL call, we're embarrassed to say!!!) them "spitties" in our house -- for the saliva reason you cited earlier. Both Anna and Cat love (LOVE) spitties. As you age, you can begin to use them for other things, like "spitties" for your dolls, doll clothing, pillow covers...and Cat has discovered that, when tied around your mid-section, they make a darn-good, improvised tube top (which are otherwise forbidden in our house.)
